Let's start the year by reminiscing...
It's always fun seeing what was most popular and what interested people the most!
“I spend my time reading, eating, sleeping. The good, quiet life, with nothing to do. And little by little, the water tank fills up.”
Bernard Moitessier

It’s that’s almost, but not quite stage: some people never stopped working over the festive season, some have already returned to work, and some won’t start again until Monday.
I’m lucky; I’m in the latter category. I aim to be sending out my first ‘proper’ 2025 post next Friday, 10th January. In the meantime, here’s a list of my top 5 Substack posts from 2024 - just in case you fancied some light reading, were a new subscriber and therefore haven’t read all the back library yet, or just wanted a refresh!
Coming in at No.1:

No. 3 finds me hibernating (again!!):
I Might Be Hibernating...
Frost topped ridges, apricot sunrises, vapour trails in a clear blue sky…doors glowing, as if made of liquid gold. Each, a singular delight; together, a portrait of a winter’s morn.
No.4 tells the tale of my childhood dream, and how it didn’t come to fruition:
I Dreamed A Dream & It Didn't Work Out...
Did you always dream of being an artist? I didn’t. A typical pony-mad girl, I had visions of galloping around the cross-country course at the Badminton Horse Trials - the pinnacle of the eventing world…
And at No.5 is:
More colour than I can shake a paintbrush at.
If you had told my pony-mad teenage self that one day I would be wandering around a Flower Festival, I would have thought you bonkers! And yet, here I was at the weekend…wandering around…the RHS Malvern Spring Festival…
I hope you enjoyed my most popular posts from last year! Normal service will be resumed next week!
Until then, happy creating!
