I have looked at this course and wished I could have taken part! I too greatly admire her work, it is so fluent and expressive, and I am so glad you had such a wonderful time. You look in your element!
Wow! That workshop looks and sounds like it was amazing. I love seeing the huge paper spread out on the grass. I’m definitely going to check out Sam’s work, too. Thanks!
It was fab Elizabeth!! And it was great to be with a group of artists; I spend a lot of time working on my own!! I love Sam's work - so full of energy!!
Yes! Working with other artists in company is a wonderful thing, a nice alternative to the usual. That's one of the things I love about the printmaking studio I'm a member of and take classes with.
Looks great, I'm not too far from Newlyn but couldn't really afford the cost. I could make more time to go and do some landscape but i do like and enjoy what I'm doing with illustration. We are spoilt down here in Kernow 👍
thx Carl, yes, it was! Cornwall has such stunning scenery, so different from the flat lands of Lincolnshire!! Acknowledge what you say about the cost - it is a lot, but when broken down into materials, school 'room', transport & driver, Sam's costs, refreshments, it all soon adds up. My OH bought me the course as a Christmas/birthday present for last year, and probably the next three years too!!. As long as you enjoy what you're doing, well, that's half the battle isn't it!!
Thx Marion, yes it was, and it was great to be with a great group of artists, instead of working on my own for most of the time!! Ha, you've guessed, the paper was from a roll - of lining paper - great for not being precious about it, and just splashing the paint and ink around!!
What an exciting trip. It looks like it was great fun. Cornwall is a beautiful place to paint too. I went twice when I was young. I love the colours and movement in the large piece in the first photo. It's gorgeous.
Thx Gillian! Yes, it was! Cornwall is fab isn't it - the scenery is stunning and the colours are wonderful, not sure I did it justice!! We also squeezed in a day trip to the Scilly Isles which was just magical!! xx
Fantastic Fun so glad you stepped out and into this course … Cornwall too!
Enjoyed reading this latest adventure well done !

What a lovely gift, lucky you.
Aren’t I just, very lucky indeed 🙏🙏
Sounds like a fabulous few days. What was the XXXL piece of paper you used, was it from a roll?
